As President and Chief Executive Officer, Terry is responsible for the overall performance of Health Payment Systems, leading the business strategy to drive growth and market share expansion. Terry’s rise within the organization is a testament to his leadership and strategic focus, as well as the HPS’ culture of employee engagement and collaboration. His leadership in his previous role as President and Chief Operating Officer drove significant operational efficiency and overall strength and stability of the organization. Terry previously was HPS’s Chief Information Officer and was instrumental in enhancing the IT and operational infrastructure at HPS.

Prior to joining Health Payment Systems in October 2014, Terry was the Chief Operating Officer for BuySeasons, Inc. a Wisconsin-founded specialty internet retail organization where he was responsible for the company’s substantial growth via new product development as well as technology and operational enhancements.

Terry brings over 25 years of executive management experience focused on efficiencies using technology and business process optimization. Prior to joining BuySeasons, Terry held several operational management roles at Exel Logistics/DPWN , Kohl’s Department Stores and McHugh Software (now JDA ).

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, Computer Systems, and Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater . Terry’s own passion as a life-long learner is embodied by his unwavering support of his team’s professional development as well as his support for secondary education via his service to multiple educationally-focused organizations in Wisconsin.

Andrew Schatz - Chief Financial Officer

Andy serves as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for financial operations and all treasury-related activities, including controllership, treasury, and management of financial relationships, financial analysis and financial risk management. He was previously Treasurer at HPS, where he was instrumental in managing the financial operations during a significant growth trajectory of the organization.

Andy brings over 15 years of experience in financial operations and accounting, as well as risk management in both start-up and established organizations. Prior to joining HPS in April 2010, Andy co-founded Andrew Douglas, a Public Accounting Firm in Brookfield, WI, which focused on helping closely held businesses with their accounting, tax and general business consulting needs and served as CFO of eMarketing for Business, an online retailer of marketing materials.

Andy developed his skills in public accounting with the regional firm Winter, Kloman, Moter and Repp .

Andy holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is actively involved in numerous community organizations.

James “Jim” Brindley is one of the founders of Health Payment Systems, Inc. and focused on the development of the core concepts associated with the HPS Single Payment System business model. Today, he serves as Corporate Secretary of Health Payment Systems Board of Directors.

When recognizing the mess of healthcare billing, he remarked “there’s got to be a better way” and soon after HPS was founded. This quote still drives the HPS team toward continuous improvement of our simplified, enhanced billing experience for the patient and their families.

Jim joined HPS in October, 2006, and served as Chief Legal Counsel where he was responsible for Legal, Government Relations and Compliance functions. Prior to joining HPS, Jim worked as an attorney in private practice for over thirty years, most recently at Davis & Kuelthau .

During his legal career, his practice focused on business and commercial transactions in the banking and healthcare sectors. Prior to joining HPS, he represented financial institutions with respect to new product development and the structure of financial transactions. He also represented healthcare networks regarding new product development, acquisition, negotiations and contracting.

Jim has degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Wisconsin and is actively engaged in numerous community organizations.

Jay Fulkerson - Strategic Advisor

As Strategic Advisor, Jay is engaged with the management team in developing strategic plans to drive business growth, increase market share and enhance customer relationships.

Jay joined HPS in 2011 as Executive Vice President. In 2013, he became President and CEO, leading the company through a tremendous period of growth and profitability. He drove the significant expansion of the HPS provider network across Wisconsin, now encompassing over 96 percent of all healthcare providers in this market.

Jay’s career encompasses more than 25 years of executive management experience in the health care industry. He joined HPS from United Healthcare where he most recently served as Regional Chief Executive Officer in the Midwest Region. He came to United Healthcare via the United Healthcare acquisition of Touchpoint Health Plan where he served as their Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jay has held numerous other leadership roles in the industry prior to joining TouchPoint.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse and is a board member of the Appleton Medical Center Foundation , Froedtert Hospital Board , Community First Credit Union and a number of community organizations.
